Save the Kittens Fund

Tax deductible
One cool morning this spring, Fluffer was shivering with her littermates under a bush wet from the previous night's rain, crying with hunger and missing their mother, who was nowhere to be found.  Fortunately, a Good Samaritan heard their cries, gathered up the little six-week olds and brought them to their local shelter.  But Fluffer's ordeal was not over - she and her sisters, Agnes, Margot and Edith, had ringworm, a highly contagious fungus that causes lesions on the skin.  By itself, ringworm is not fatal, but curing it requires time, space and funds few shelters have, so euthanasia is often the fate of ringworm kittens.  But not for Fluffer!  People for Animals stepped in and took custody of her and her siblings and moved them to our special isolation unit for cats and kittens with ringworm.  For six weeks, they'll be kept from other cats and given daily medicated dips.

Now that she's feeling better, Fluffer loves to play with our staff even though they are covered from head to toe in protective gear to prevent transmission of the fungus. She still wants to cuddle, purring loudly and reaching out with her paw when the nice people in the white suits enter the isolation unit.

Right now, we only have six cages in the unit, limiting how many cats and kittens we can save.  Your donation to our Save the Kittens Fund will let us buy more cages and save thousands more precious lives like FlufferPlease give today!
