Cesar Medical Fund-- Cesar's Brain Surgery

Donation protected
If you have ever been lucky enough to spend a few minutes with Cesar you would know that there is not a dull moment with that man. Cesar in the midst of a terrible situation in Venezuela took it upon himself to ensure that everyone in his family has been taken care of. He is the ideal son, boyfriend, brother, cousin and most importantly an ideal soul. His demeanor towards life is so positive, relaxed, optimistic yet determine. His spark is contagious and his determination has taken him places. He has always made the best of every situation and made others around him feel the same way.

He is currently not in the best state of his life. A few months ago he had not been feeling well. It seemed like the casual flu but unfortunately, the doctors told him they thought he had hepatitis. He went back with some medication but after a month he wasn't getting any better. Recently, he was at home and his mother realized that he was forgetting things. He kept joking that she wouldn't feed him, even though she had just removed the plate from the table. Scared of the situation they went to the doctor and they have found a tumor in his brain.

Cesar is only 30 years old and surrounded by the most amazing team of family, friends, and friends of friends-- and of course, Sachi :)  The tumor in his brain is in a position that seems impossible to operate, it is located between the two brain hemispheres. The doctors, as well as other practitioner friends,  suggested that the best next order of business is to conduct a biopsy.  To conduct this biopsy he will have to undergo a brain surgery that will take approximately 4-5 hours. This is an extremely delicate procedure which will then follow by induction to ICU for recovery. When the biopsy is analyzed we will know what type of tumor he has, whether it is benign or malignant and how to proceed from here.

There is another terrible layer to this tragedy and that is this is all taking place in Venezuela. If you are not aware of the situation let me catch you up. Basically, due to an extremely unstable economy, Venezuela functions in a very bizarre world. For example, the money for the biopsy has been allocated yet the doctors won't operate until it gets exchanged to Bolivares. In the global scale, toilet paper in Venezuela is worth more than Bolivares. I am sure you are reading this and think this doesn't make sense at all-- and that is exactly what I am trying to explain. Together we are unsure of what the future holds, there is a lot of uncertainty and a lot of need for patience and self-care. This is one of those situations that we cannot control 90% of the variables and hope for the very best.

Now, Cesar is not in pain. He has been kept company by his friends, family, and rockstar of girlfriend. So many people have called and reached out. He has lapses in his cognitive ability. Sometimes he is OK and seems like everything is fine, sometimes he doesn't really respond and spaces out. He has been suffering from short term memory loss so he is capable of recognizing everyone, he knows who he is, he knows that he has some sort of sickness but he will forget things after ten minutes that they happened. For example, he was told he had a brain tumor and ten minutes later his friends asked him what was wrong with him and he said he had gastritis (which is what we all thought he had a week ago).

The road ahead is going to be dark, challenging, and painful but the amount of love and support everyone has exuded is UNREAL. Now, We have reached out to friends and family-- those close of us that understand the pain we are all going through as friends of Cesar. I think its time for us to even ask for more, reach out, ask questions, ask friends, share his story.

If you can please donate to him, all of his money is directly going to his medical care. The money is allocated to his account which will pay for the medicine, the treatments, food, everything he needs to get through this. On Tuesday, I will be uploading a more specific budget of whichever treatment he is needed.

I know money is important but prayers, thoughts, vibes, connections, anything that you think can help will help. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you know someone that may know someone that may have looked at brain tumors in the past-- it doesn't matter, anything helps.

Once again thank you to EVERYONE. I cannot tell you enough how painful this is (and if you've met Cesar before you obviously know) but what I can tell you is this has been a twisted way of seeing an amazing amount of good in this world.

original post from Ariana-- Cesar's Cousin.

Cesar, the person I grew up with, is one of the most amazing, caring, and hilarious humans on earth. He has always been the artsy, talented, charismatic one in the family. When the situation turned sour in Venezuela he took it upon himself to make ends meet for my family still there. He built a business that was a sustainable source for all of them to survive, and accomplished so much before the age of 30.

Recently doctors have discovered a tumor in his brain. This news are heartbreaking not only because of the uphill battle he is about to climb but because he is currently in Venezuela. As you can imagine a brain tumor is a terrible diagnosis in the U.S but in Venezuela, it could be a very certain death sentence. The procedures are expensive, medical care is unstable, and the future is bleak. The only potential shot at surviving is very much so dependant on the money at hand.

If you have ever asked me about my family you will know that to me they mean everything to me-- no matter how far I am. Unfortunately, there is very little financial capital I can contribute but I do have a long and deep network of friends which is why I am asking for anything that you can do to help me.  I understand that we live in a world where money is important, valued, and hard-earned so I do not expect you to donate any type of amount (if any) nor will I be offended if you cannot donate.

My 29th birthday is coming up and I would love more than anything that instead of partying with me that you use that money and fund my "go fund me" for Cesar.  I wish this wasn't the reality, I wish this wasn't how things played out but sadly here we are. I would be more than thankful for your support. Hug your loved ones today-- don't forget that.
