Central Service Station Funds

Donation protected
On Saturday March 11th, the Central Auto Shop (aka Central Service Station) was broken into and over $30,000 in tools were stolen.  The shop has an alarm system.  It was disabled by the thieves.  The students in auto shop had been working on Principle Mary Mackbee car during the school week. Her car was taken as well.  Auto shop teacher, Matt Lijewski, was the one to discover the break-in Sunday morning when he stopped by the shop.  Both school tools and the teachers personal tools were taken.  Because of the very limited yearly school budget, the students not only used school provided tools, Matt Lijewski also used his personal tools with the students.

Mr. Lijewski has applied for a school emergency fund in order to replace some of the tools stolen.   The St. Paul Public schools carry a $100,000.00 insurance deductable, therefore they are not able to file a claim through the school district.

The students continue to work on customers cars daily but they have been very limited as to what work can be accomplished.

Funds collected will be used to replace as many tools as possible for the students.  If we reach our goal, any additional funds raised will go towards improving the work space for current and future students.

The shop is located at 1157 Selby Ave. St. Paul MN.  The shop has been in operation since 1971 when it was donated to St. Paul Public Schools.
