Trievel Autism Center Non-profit

Hello! Thank you for your interest in my cause! I am going to share a little about myself and a lot about why Laura Clark and I are forming a non-profit organization to support adults with autism.

After teaching students in middle school with ADHD, Asperger's and High Functioning Autism(HFA)  for over ten years, I opened a social development coaching business.  This business expanded quickly and allowed me to reach young children through adults with social cognitive difficulties.

As I began working with more adults, I became aware of the lack of support available to them in order to foster the key skills to help them socialize, get and keep a job, stay in college, and form lasting and meaningful relationships. My small practice provides the training and coaching to do all of this, at a charge. There are many young adults with Asperger's and HFA that do not have the resources to fund this type of training, but if they received the training for free they would have access to the resources needed to learn to live a much more independent and socially fulfilled life.

So, I shared my initial ideas with Laura Clark, a parent of one of my adult clients. This was just the beginning to an explosion of ideas and enthusiasm! We started brainstorming immediately and 6 months later, after extensive research and a narrowing of our ideas, we are ready to file for 501(c)3 status.

The autism center will provide a community for those seeking social activities, educational workshops and support when looking and training for employment.  Our program uses the Social Thinking framework developed by Michelle Garcia Winner of which has been extremely successful with all of my clients in private practice.

We are in need of the intial filing fees, logo design, website design and some marketing materials. The $5000 we are trying to raise will help defer some of this cost to be able to get started as quickly as possible.

We are so incredibly thankful for anything you are willing to give! So many isolated or unemployed adults with Asperger's and HFA will have the opportunity to live a fulfilling life after seeking the social acceptance and skill training from our organization.
