Celebrating Kimi Schroder

Kimi Schroder was a beautiful, amazing young lady who battled Neuroblastoma, a form of pediatric cancer, for 8 ½ years.
She fought long and hard for all those years. She displayed a great deal of courage and strength during this very long journey. Despite all the challenges she faced, Kimi always handled the adversity with grace, dignity, humor, and with a smile on her face. Her brave fight inspired and touched the hearts of so many people. Her joy and her spirit will live on in all the people who met her.
On January 6th, Kimi drew her last breath here on Earth. She passed peacefully in the loving arms of her dad, Peter. Kimi was 12 years old.
Kimi and her personality and spirit are bigger and stronger than any cancer. Throughout this entire journey - through all the extended hospital stays, the nausea, the pain, the hair loss, and most importantly, the loss of a significant part of her childhood - she never complained. She embraced her battle with a smile, bravery, and positive attitude that is well beyond her years.
She loved to sing, dance, swim, ride her boogie board, and hang out with her friends. She was a voracious reader and loved school. She was always so proud to make the Honor Roll each year. She was a total adrenaline junkie - she loved roller coasters, rock climbing, and zip lines.
She truly enjoyed her years at Lewis Middle School and Hearst Elementary. She spread a great deal of love and joy at both schools. Lewis Middle School is humbled to support the memory of Kimi through the creation of this campaign.
Kimi’s family greatly appreciates all the love and support during this difficult time. Your generosity will help with a memorial service, a Celebration of Life, and remaining medical expenses.
Please continue to keep Kimi and her Dad in your thoughts and prayers.
