Celebrate Petworth is a free neighborhood festival organized by and for the residents of Petworth and surrounding neighborhoods, celebrating the creativity, diversity, culture, people and quality of life of our wonderful neighborhood. See here !
It's a blast every year, and a great place to eat, shop, hang, and meet new folks. Positive community gatherings that bring people together are needed now more than ever, and we're hoping to make sure this festival continues on for years!
This year, we're opening up the opportunity to support Celebrate Petworth to community members and anyone else who would like to have a hand in supporting this fabulous event! As Celebrate Petworth has grown, so has our need for support. Supporting the festival allows us to bring in the high-demand programming that draws in the crowds that make this event (and this neighborhood) so great! Your support will fund critical public event permits, security and insurance, performance fees, stages, audio engineering and equipment rental.
On top of that, as a thank you gift for your support, we'll be handing out Celebrate Petworth 2018 tote bags to you for every $25 you donate! Use it the day of the festival, sport it around town, show off your Petworth pride!
A bit about the festival -
This year's festival is coming up very soon, and we're gearing up for it to be our most memorable one yet. Celebrate Petworth will be held on September, 8, 2018, from 11am to 5pm.
This year, we are bringing back the increasingly popular History Tent, a tented area with seating featuring discussions and recollections from neighborhood elders. The Main Music Stage will be back with performances from The Heritage Signature Choral, an amazing choir preserving African American Choral music in its purest form, to the best in local jazz, some experimental folk rock, and a Dog Show!
New programming this year is the Taste of Petworth, a tasting circuit featuring the extraordinary restaurants of Upshur Street and beyond. We are super excited about it!
