Due to your incredibly generous donations, we are no longer taking donations for this family. But there are many other families in need - if you would like to donate (or encourage others to!) please direct funds to our other families in need, or our general fund found at ImmigrantFamiliesTogether.com   Thank you, again, for your generous donations and contributing to changing this family’s life.

With love and light, Immigrants Families Together

Immigrant Families Together  is a movement to help reunite detained parents with their children. With grassroots effort and community donations, we have successfully bonded out Yeni Gonzalez and she's held her kids again (   https://nyti.ms/2lRD7jy)-- there is a long line of moms waiting to do the same.

Cefora is the 11th mother we are helping. Through a generous donation, her bond was paid and she was released from an ICE facility in Arizona the day before the bond offer was set to expire, and if not for our angel donor that would have meant Cefora would have been deported (without her child.) Thankfully, her child is with family in another state, but we need funds to transport Cefora to be reunited with her, and to sustain the family while they go through the asylum process, as per the federal poverty guidelines, since Cefora can’t legally work for at least 5 months, per the bond conditions.

Any funds raised above the goal amount will be used to reunite other families.

Immigrant Families Together is a network of Americans committed to rapid response unification of families separated by the 'zero tolerance' policy. We have mobilized to help parents currently detained through the following immediate actions:

1. Raising of bond funds through coordinated crowdfunding and individual giving in order to post bond for parents separated from their children at the US/Mexico Border.

2. Paying bonds and providing or coordinating pro bono legal representation to fulfill legal responsibilities while awaiting trial so that they may be with their children.

3. Arranging safe transportation from state of detention to the city where children are currently in foster care.

4. When needed, finding long-term housing in the destination city while they await trial.

5. Connecting parents in cities with resources in order to sustain them during the process of being unified with their children.

6. Working with local organizations and government to expedite the process of achieving full custody of their children while they await trial.

7. We are creating a toolkit to allow other concerned citizens to replicate our model in order to help bring parents back to their children across the country as quickly as possible.

8. Providing sustaining funds for the family while they await their trial, in accordance with federal poverty guidelines, as these women can’t legally pursue work for at least 5 months.

Across the United States

We will be paying Cefora’s expenses related to her release transport from Arizona to the state where her child is, and paying for her accommodations, food, cell phone, and other expenses, as well as providing her with support to attend appointments and reunite with her child.

We are not related to Cefora or her attorney by blood. We are a community of concerned parents and citizens who don't support the current separation policy and want to do our part to reunify Cefora with her child.

We will withdraw all donated funds to Julie, the leader/organizer/founder of Immigrant Families Together. They will then be transferred to her attorney or Irma. Expenses to be paid include: Expenses related to transportation from Eloy, Arizona, lodging, food, local transportation, cell-phone, and other expenses Cefora may incur as part of her reunification, including but not limited to costs of preparing for her court appearances (copies of documents, etc), as well as costs associated with sustaining her and her child while they undergo the amnesty process.

Dear Generous Donors,

Cefora is en route to be reunited with her family. Throughout the journey she keeps smiling; even though she has been through one of the most painful things a parent can endure, she knows what the alternative might have been, that generosity and love such as yours exists and saved her and her child from that alternative, and is so joyful. She is the one on the left in this picture, so you can see her beautiful smile for yourself! Thank you so much for all your generosity. Because of you, Cefora will be able to hold her child again, and they will able to see their immigration case to its conclusion in a safe home, with a gauarantee of food and other necessities. Thank you for being the light in what was a very dark time for this family.

With love and light,
Immigrant Families Together
