Cedzidlo Family House Fire Tragedy

$5,250 of $6,000 goal

Raised by 66 people in 14 months

Yesterday morning (Tuesday) my brothers house caught fire from some bad wiring. The fire started in my nieces room. She lost everything. His family thankfully was out of town for the holidays so they are all ok. However, my nieces boyfriend Ryan Michael Cieck was house and pet sitting. He was not so lucky. He was found unconscious and suffered 2nd degree burns over 25% of his body. He is currently on life support in the burn unit. Doctors are unsure of the damage to his lungs, so this is the best approach until this can be assessed. He is far from out of danger!! He and his family and my daughter need as much spiritual support through prayers that can be sent. Please pray for them. A human life is irreplaceable and he deserves better. The house, belongings and such are materialistic and can be replaced. Thank you all for the kind and supportive words as our entire family deal with this cruel blow from this terrible year of 2016. My main concern for now is praying for Ryan and his recovery. If you are able to please donate so we can hopefully help them start the new year off better than the ending to this year. Thank you and God bless!

You may also donate directly to myself and I can forward the donations to the family.

Please email me for address or other options to donate.

Update on Ryan:

They were able to take Ryan off of one of the machines (ECMO, blood oxygenating machine that basically saved him) Still on a ventilator but this is progress and I have some relief. Still not out of the woods and so far to go but headed in the right direction. I can't believe these last 10 days have happened.

Prayers are still needed.

Update on Ryan:

Ryan is still in very critical condition. All they keep telling me he is very sick. The one thing that's different is that they said it can take weeks for prognosis when they used to tell me they are taking it hour by hour. They are also treating him for an infection he developed. They administer paralyzing meds for burn dressing changes and for other distressing situations. When they are able to lift those drugs, he is still heavily sedated but that has been when he has responded to people talking to him. We told him there was a fire, it's not his fault and everything is OK and we just need his lungs to heal.

Prayers are still needed!! He still has a long road to recovery!

***UPDATE***

I have 2 updates!!

Update #1:

Ryan is responding to verbal commands and tried to open his eyes several times. Brain seems to be OK but still reliant on 2 machines for oxygen and breathing. This seems like a forward step but until he is of the machines, prayers are needed.

Update #2:

When it comes to my brothers house... This is the latest:

Every room except the family room has to be gutted to the studs and re built. Structure is ok . Thank goodness!!

Everyone involved still have a long way to go for full recovery....

Thank you all for your support!!

Love to everyone and God bless!

Update:

Ryan is still sedated. He is on a ventilator that is running at 40%. That is the best news yet. Wednesday the ventilator was running at 100%.
Still not much luck on the lung condition or function.

He is in a very tight run CICU area with a constant nurse on hand. Immediate family can be with him for 60 minutes every other hour. Non family is limited to 15 minutes every 2 hours. Some of his burns do not appear very bad.

He is still in need of prayers and a little divine intervention wouldn't hurt.

Thank you everyone that has asked about him.

Can't find the proper words to say how grateful my family and I are for the out pouring of support in our time of tragedy. My family and I will face adversity head on like usual. We're a bunch of stubborn Pollocks.

So sorry for this tragedy your family is experiencing. Your family is an inspiration in all that you do (we met you through the food drive, we are a Cub Scout family). I pray for quick healing for the injured young man and I pray for peace for your family as you navigate through this tragic experience.
