Why Me?
Hello, my name is Mark and I am not only the Executive Director of Cedar Hills but I am also a (client) former addict. For years in California, I lived the life of an addict, and it left me with only three choices; live on the streets, end up in prison, or possibly dead.
Look Within
I knew I had to change, and it was a faith-based initiative identical to the one we are building that changed my life! I knew that the only way I was going to change, was too look in the mirror and be honest with myself about who I was, about my past, about my choices. I had to stop blaming others and take action!
But It Hurts
Was it painful? Yes it was, but if you break your arm the doctor has to reset it, and that can be just as painful as the break. But breaking bad habits is a necessary part of getting to the core of the poor choices we make. My only saving Grace was knowing that Jesus was going through this with me. It was only then that I was able to face my demons and get healing.
I Have The Facility
We are putting the finishing touches on a 36 bed facility, donated by a generous family. I have to purchase a very large generator for the building. I have to purchase an electric security gate and security cameras, which are required by city code. I need to hire staff and buy enough food for 40 people for 3 meals a day (staff, candidates and volunteers). We have an Occupancy permit. We have passed all of our building inspections. We have the curriculum. We just need you!
The Time is Now
If you know anything about this epidemic, then you know that it’s affecting people from all walks of life, and there are not enough long term faith-based initiatives that have open beds. We NEED your financial support to open. Once we establish ourselves, then we can apply for foundation grants from both the private and public sector. Until then, we must rely on your donations. We are a tax deductible 501(c)(3) with a federal EIN number for your contributions.
We Have a Board of Authority
We have a seven member board that represents a broad spectrum of the melting pot of our community. We are Black, White, Arab, Italian, Greek, Irish, men and women, United for One Cause. Please Support in any way you can!
We are Looking for 300,000 people to give one dollar or whatever God places on your heart to give. Together we are saving lives, like those who saved mine!
