Cecelia Little Lott - Medical Costs

Our unborn baby Cecelia Little Lott has exencephaly, which is an incredibly rare fatal Neural Tube Defect. The Reader's Digest version is that she has a big beautiful brain but is missing her skull vault, the top of her head. Doctors call her condition "incompatible with life." But nobody told her that. She is happily kicking away in my womb as I type this.

Like her name sake, Cecelia loves music. She also loves all things sugary and kicks up a storm whenever she hears her daddy's voice reading stories to us. Her middle name is Little because Jeremy has always called her “Little Lott” since the day we first learned we were pregnant.

We have elected to do a c-section on August 21st at 37 weeks. We hope to have some time with our little girl before she goes home to God. Babies with anencephaly/exencephaly who survive birth can live for anywhere from minutes to days. Only a handful have ever seen their first birthday. Our Little Lott is a fighter but realistically we know we will only have a short time with her.

We’re seeking financial assistance to help pay for medical bills for carrying Cecelia to term, which we anticipate costing at least $20,000. Our out-of-pocket family limit is $10,000 per year, but then there’s the monthly $741 premiums, and the insurance company recently told us that even if Cecelia lives just 5 minutes, we'll have another $850 deductible cost and a 20% co-pay to tack on to our “gold” plan.

Please consider donating and/or sharing about our campaign. All support is appreciated. Anything you can give will help. Prayers are also welcome.
