Faith's Fight

Donation protected

Earlier this year, Faith Rogers had surgery to remove what was thought to be a benign ovarian cyst. After the surgery, Faith, 36, her Husband Daniel, and two daughters Victoria, 12 and Abigail, 5 received life changing news. Faith was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of Ovarian Cancer called Mucinous Cytoadenocarcinoma.

Six rounds of chemo and numerous rounds of Nuepogen were ordered and completed. After Faith's final treatment in September she rang the bell and was told she was cancer free. As you can imagine Fatih and her family were filled with joy and excitement. They were ready to move forward with life....cancer free.

One final follow up with the GYN Oncology Specialist turned their joy and excitement into heartache as Faith and Daniel received news that not only had the torturous chemo treatments not worked, the cancer had spread. The PET scan revealed Faith's abdominal area has many "spots." Her abdominal muscles, liver and possibly bladder are included.

Throughout the previous chemo treatments Faith continued to work as much as her body would allow. Sadly, after much prayerful consideration and the reality of the long fight ahead, Faith made the difficult decision to take a leave of absence from the job that she so dearly adores. For many years Faith has been a wonderful asset to our great community. She has been tirelessly dedicated and supportive to the downtown revitalization efforts, holds a seat on the board of the Harvest Hope Food Bank, is a graduate of Emerging Leaders, and is an active member in Kiwanas Rotary Club.

The new treatment plan includes many more chemotherapy treatments, all of which will be administered in Columbia, SC.  There will now be added travel expenses and many, many additional medical bills.

Our goal here is a simple one.  We are reaching out to you today and asking for your help to get this sweet family through the next round of treatments. We are asking for help in providing funding for their medical and travel expenses over the next six months. We hope to alleviate any weight we can from them during this time, and hope to provide breathing room, allowing their focus to be on quality time, Faith's fight and most importantly, her healing. Can you help us reach this goal?

We would like to say a special thank you to her amazing work family for the UNBELIEVABLE outpouring of love and support that they have and continue to show.  We know that SO MANY of you have already poured out your love and support for this family.  We THANK YOU for that from the bottom of our hearts! Please know that this family is grateful beyond words. To know Faith is a blessing. To see her bigger than life smile and hear her contagious laugh is an even bigger blessing. Thank you for being a part of helping to return that sweet smile and laugh to her and her family.
