Fort Hood "Mom" , Ms Julie

Dear Friends,

Many of you remember Julie Curtis-Win as the smiley face sticker lady at the manifest site or as "mom" at Ft Hood 24/7 red roof support facility at 78th and Santa Fe that provided a home-like atmoshere for deploying and returning home Soldiers.  Julie has fell on hard times and now we can give back to her in a big way.  As many of you know Julie had a bad accident that requires the amputation of her leg that held her back for only 3 weeks before she was able to return to her calling of helping out Soldiers.  Julie is now single and trying her hardest to make it on her disability check.  She has cut back to the bare essential of life and had to sell her home she recieved after the death of her parents.  Julie kept 2 acres of land where Soldiers still come to visit her and relax.  The land is bare and she had the thought of putting up a shed to live in just to have a place to call home.  I believe we can all pitch in to help Julie buy a small manufactured home to place on her lot and get the required utilities that are needed.  The home will need to be modified for wheelchair accessability.  Time is running out for her to move and  on the outside she is portraying the image of a lady with no worries.  Julie just had another operation and contacted a bactererial infection in her good leg and is limited to sitting in a cold shower enviroment to bathe.  Our help will mean so much to Julie.  Julie helped out thousands of Soldiers during the big deployments at Ft Hood and never expected anything in return.  If you can find it in your heart to help her at the most challenging time in her life she will always be thankful.  If your not able to help out financially you can pass this along to your friends that may be able to help out and Julie will also  be thankful for that.
