Running with the Reeseman

Reese Thorne was born with Cerebral Palsy, Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia (PCH).  PCH is heterogeneous group of rare neurodegenerative disorders caused by genetic mutations and characterized by progressive atrophy of various parts of the brain such as the cerebellum or brainstem.  Where known, these disorders are inherited in an autosomal recessive fashion.  There is no known cure for PCH.  (src: Wikipedia)

Carla, Mike and their family adopted Reese at an early age.  They have integrated Reese into their everyday life in an amazing fashion.  Not only do they care for his needs, but Reese’s life has been opened to many opportunities.  He is now a role model for what everyone can do.  Reese has traveled, skied, run (using volunteer legs) in races, and participated in triathlons.  He has now surpassed 100 races!  Reese has even gone paragliding thanks to Chris Santacroce and Project Airtime.

Reese continues to grow and thrive, but he is now in need of a new racing chair.  A new chair will allow him to race in better comfort and help the many wonderful volunteers and friends that push him in the races.  Please help Reese continue to race and thrive!

All of the money raised (less the fees) will go to Reese’s adventures.
