William Walker for College Board!

UPDATE:

We made our first goal of $1,000 in less than three days!  This campaign is building momentum but it is not over!  My budget for window signs alone is $1,000.  I have more than a dozen endorsements, which means another $100 to each organization that endorses me as a token of my appreciation and a bit of a payment for putting me all over their slate card and home page.

BREAKING:  William Walker receives the endorsement of the San Francisco Labor Council and the San Francisco Bay Area Reporter!

Being a child of labor, with a shop steward mother and transit union president father, and being a proud, prominent member of the LGBT community, it brings me great pride to receive such prominent endorsements.  Check out my home page for the latest in endorsement, I have more than two dozen!  http://www.yeswillcan.org.

Join a movement!  Help us reach our goal.  Donate to the William Walker for San Francisco College Board campaign today!  #yeswillcan #SaveCCSF

More about William Walker:

I grew up in San Francisco, about a mile from the largest community college campus in the nation.  No one ever talked about that.  My friends always told me it was where the losers went.  My senior year, I was admitted to City College of San Francisco.

What City College was for me at 17, is what it continues to be for me at 35.  I found a community at CCSF that didn't exist anywhere else.  I studied geography and politics while friends of mine enrolled in the nursing or radiologic technology programs, more challenging than any in the entire nation.

I ran successfully for student government three times, which included a term as student trustee at the time CCSF was placed on show cause with its accrediting agency.  I ensured that more than 2 dozen students were appointed to 15 committees, making their voices heard at the most critical time in the school's 80 year history.

Right now is a critical time for you to support my campaign.

At this time, we have no African American male elected officials in San Francisco.  I am the only queer, African American male running for public office this November.

By donating now, you can ensure that the board has a progressive voice at the table to ensure that the largest community college in the nation can continue to educate its high school graduates, workers, English Language learners, and lifelong learners of the San Francisco community.

Your donation of five dollars, or five hundred dollars, or anywhere between, can ensure that my dream of serving in political office can come true in a city where the dreams of many working class people of color like myself are deferred.  Don't defer.  Fund Will for the win!

Every donor to my campaign will be listed as a contributor on my website.   And the first ten people to donate will get a commemorative T-Shirt from my campaign.

And if I win this little election, you're all invited to the party!

And remember, vote William Walker for College Board! Put CCSF First!
