Our six-person team of students from Centennial College believes in the cause that drives Rainbow Railroad: helping LGBT people experiencing government violence and persecution abroad to resettle in safety in Canada. Together, we can support those whose lives are in danger. Please donate or attend our fundraising event in Toronto on November 22, 2017. More details on our event here.
Rainbow Railroad will provide all donors with charitable donation tax receipts upon request.
Rainbow Railroad is an organization that helps bring people experiencing persecution due to their gender identity or sexual orientation to safety in Canada as refugees. In 2016 they helped 81 refugees, all of whom are identified by a network of LGBT community leaders and contacts. Once the refugees arrive in Canada they are connected with settlement agencies that help them with the legal processes and life in Canada. Over 70 per cent of the revenue gained by Rainbow Railroad goes directly to their programming, so a large portion of your donation will go directly to the refugees.
