Save "Margie" from Foreclosure

Donation protected
Friends,

As many of you know, our business is property management. We manage many homes in Austin, and 2 Homeowner's Associations.

In early 2015, a resident in one of the HOA communities we manage came under severe financial duress when she fell upon hard times due to her medical needs.

"Margie", I believe, is partially disabled, and survives month-to-month on a menial, fixed income. She lives alone, does not have immediate / local family of which I'm aware. She does not own a car; and rides a bike to work every day.

Incidentally, she is one of the kindest people I've met, and right now, she needs your help...

During the time she fell ill, "Margie" was set back in paying her bills on time; her home mortgage, living expenses, etc...including her monthly debt to her community (by way of our company) for her recurring HOA dues. As a result, we are left with the difficult question of "what to do".

You see, in Texas, an HOA can legally foreclose on a property due to extended unpaid dues. This puts us at an ethical & moral dilemma...as our fiduciary duty to the HOA (should) supercede our moral duty to the individual. Each month, "Margie" pays as much as she can, which is limited to the remaining money she can offer after affording for her survival. Each month, we accept her payment with heavy hearts, as we know it's the last money she has and is beyond what she can actually afford.

Despite her best efforts in over-paying her dues each month, she's still several months behind; with no end in-sight.

$1400 would serve as a wonderful Holiday gift to "Margie" to shore up her dues through Christmas and remove this badgering worry from her life. She is now recouperated from her medical episode and left only with the financial recovery that has followed.

It would mean the world to her, I'm sure, if only for the generosity & kindness of people she does not know.

I have kept her identity a secret as I'm not sure if she would want us to do this or not. However, I can assure each and every one of you that this money will go directly toward her HOA dues and prevent us from having to make a most-difficult decision regarding her future. I can provide direct-evidence of how this money will be applied, and intend to do so for each individual contributor who sends their help.

"Margie" works hard, strives to do the right thing, and deserves any help you can provide to reduce her worry this Holiday Season.

Once her goal is met, I will give her the opportunity, somehow, to thank each of you personally for your contribution.

Thank you for your consideration.
