Kidney Transplant Money Needed ASAP

My name is Thomas Mullins and I am 63 years old.  I am a husband, father and grandfather.  I was a trucker all of my life, until the day I received the news that I had kidney damage.  I began seeing a nephrologist at Southwest Kidney Institute and began a treatment plan.  At first, it was more about diet and lifestyle.  I did everything the doctor asked of me but in the end it was not enough.  The next chapter was going on dialysis and being put on the kidney transplant list.  I have to do dialysis 7 times a week for 7.5 hours at each time.  In order to be able to do the treatment in my own home I had a port inserted into my stomach.  In order to receive a new kidney I will need $1,100 up front for the hospital.  After the transplant, I will need at least $600 a month for the rejection medication. 

My wife Sharon is also battling many medical issues and is on oxygen and  only able to work part-time for State Farm.  She has worked for State Farm for over 18 years.  We have been on very limited funds for years and have only been able to save the funds for the hospital. This has stretched us to the limits and there is no way we can pay our bills and save the money for the rejection medication.  These funds will mean the difference between getting a second chance at living a more normal life or being on dialysis the rest of my life or the worst possible outcome - death.

She will not be able to work during the first 3 months of my recovery because she has to take care of me.  This means we will have no income and will need it replaced. I will be recovering for the first two months and will not be able to drive, so I will also need her to take me to all of my appointments.

These funds are needed as soon as possible so we will be able to show the hospital financial stability for the rejection medication.  We are also asking for help with the expenses of traveling back and forth 3 times every week.  All funds that are not used will be donated directly to the Kidney Foundation.
