At CBRE, we approach our commitment to community service and philanthropy with the same enthusiasm and creativity as we approach our business. CBRE is committed to fulfilling its role as a responsible corporate citizen by continuing to support and add value to the communities within which we work. We have continued to build on charitable endeavours initiated in previous years, as well as introducing new and innovative ways
in which to give back to the community.
CBRE Cares (previously Helping Hands) is CBRE’s corporate volunteering initiative. In 2015, an unprecedented number of staff took part, with approximately 350 employees around Australia taking time out of their busy schedules to assist a range of charities.
In 2015, the entire Perth office dedicated a week of their time to Serenity Lodge Therapeutic Community, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation centre in Rockingham. The facility desperately needed a facelift so CBRE staff worked with current residents and installed a community garden, decked the communal meeting area, built a communal BBQ area and put in children’s play equipment for when resident’s children visit at
the weekend.

In 2016, CBRE Perth has selected RISE Network as their charity of choice to support.

Rise Network is a Western Australian-based charity
organisation that provides invaluable community support and services to disadvantaged people. RISE Network offers five core services, providing support to those impacted by mental health issues; people living with disability; aged care services; youth services; and housing support. PROJECT LOCATION SUMMARY
One of RISE Network’s integral service offerings is its work in providing accommodation support to those living with disabilities. They offer a shared living approach with 24/7 care and a home environment. This year, our CBRE Cares project will focus on undertaking upgrades to the exterior of two Support Accommodation homes, ensuring it meets an acceptable and comfortable standard of living for its residents.
WHAT’S THE PLAN FOR 2016?
With a volunteer workforce of 100+ enthusiastic
staff, CBRE will ‘make-over’ the outdoor areas of
the facilities over the course of one week (14th - 18th November 2016).
Capitalising on the homes’ position within the beautiful Perth Hills, we will endeavor to maintain the ‘natural’ feel of the area, ensuring all enhancements fit within the existing surrounds.
Our CBRE Cares Project Team has consulted at length with the residents, care givers and RISE Network staff to establish what the greatest needs are for the two areas and we have used this information to guide the project scope and design.
The project inclues:
• Extensive site works (weeding & rubbish removal)
• Screeding and leveling
• Installing weed matting
• Installing concrete paths and ramps
• Installing a chicken enclosure
• Wheelchair accessible vegetable garden beds
• Synthetic lawn spaces
• Installing shade sails
• Perimeter fencing
• Installation of washing lines
• New garden furniture
• Installing guide rails
• Installing BBQ areas
• Installing new paved areas
• Providing plenty of seated areas
• Installing water feature
• Extensive planting of herbs and aromatic plants
• Existing path cleaning
• Extensive native planting
• Mulching
CBRE will work together with the residents and staff of each of the homes wherever possible to complete the fully engaging project.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?
To completely make-over the outside of both houses, we will need to raise $38,000. It is a big goal but many hands make light work.
