CBP Police Explorers Tampa,FL #1801

Post #1801 is a diverse youth oriented organization sponsored by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Office of Field Operations in Tampa, FL, with the goal of preparing today's teens for tomorrow's challenges. As one of the most unique police explorer posts in the United States, Post #1801 is a number one choice for anyone interested in law enforcement.

CBP Explorers receive a diverse level of training in local, state, and federal law enforcement topics. We also focus on CBP specific laws and training to better enhance our exposure. Some topics included are: Search and Arrest, Active Shooter, Traffic Stop, Aircraft Boarding, CSI, Domestic Violence, Bomb-Threat Response, Intelligence, Crisis Intervention, Hostage Negotiation, Law, Primary/ Secondary Inspection and much more!

Post #1801 explorers regularly "work-along" with CBP Federal Officers at the different ports of entry in the Tampa Bay area. We actively work in primary/secondary inspections, aircraft/vessel inspections, cargo inspections, seized property disposal, documentation, container inspections and so on.

The Explorer Program is lead by a board of elected (explorer) Officers who are supervised by a staff of CBP Federal Officers and Agents as well as other adult volunteers. Our Advisors are the glue that keeps our post together. Advisors support our members everyday, and assist them with tasks both inside and outside of the post insuring their safety, learning, and most of all making sure everyone is having fun! Post #1801 functions year-round and meets every Saturday (except holidays). Our meetings are held at a variety of locations in Tampa.

As Federal Explorers we have the unique opportunity to wear many different types of uniforms. Due to the fact that our uniforms replicate the official CBP Officers’ uniforms, safety is paramount. Responsibility, Nobility, and Respect are things that are taught to our Explorers from day one. Explorers must demonstrate these qualities and pass a series of tests in order to receive the honor of wearing a badge. We do not tolerate those who violate our policies, or disrespect others.

Post #1801 is co-ed and is a part of the Learning For Life Program developed by Boy Scouts of America. Teenagers are eligible to join once they've reached the age of 14 and may remain active in the Post until the day they turn the age of 22. Once Explorers graduate our program most enter the Law Enforcement Community, generally with CBP. Others tend to choose to continue their education, enter the military, or, very commonly, become Post Advisors; training the next generation of Explorers.

We are currently a non profit 501.c3 orginazation.

Thank you so very much for your support!
