CB Kids take on Freeride 2020 Jr World Champs

Four athletes will represent  Crested Butte at the World's premier junior Freeride event in Kappl Austria this January!
The Freeride Junior World Championship (FJWC) is an invite only  event where the top junior  freeriders  from around the world compete  to crown the best riders in the sport.  With only  29 skier men, 13 skier women and 13 snowboarder men  competing from around the world it is a true honor to have four of those athletes coming from  our little community of Crested Butte.

While it's an honor its also an major expense to the athletes and their families - we are running this Gofundme to ask for  your help in sending these incredible athletes  to Kappl Austria, to show the world what Crested Butte is all about!   Getting here has been the result of many long years of hard training and determination. This is the pinnacle of their Junior careers, as all athletes  will be graduating from high school this year.

Dagan Schwartz - This will be Dagan's second trip to the Jr Worlds in Kappl . He held the North American Snowboard title in 2016 and currently sits 3rd in the World. He hopes to  take home the title this year. 

Kye Matlock - Kye won the North American Championships  at Kicking Horse, BC  last year, out-competing the toughest freeride men on the continent  - He will be a strong competitor on the world stage.

Avery  Bernhotlz - Avery  took 1st place for North American women  at  Kicking Horse  last year and was the North American Champion in 2016.   Avery is no stranger to steep lines  and  can't wait to show those women what she's got.

Holden Bradford - Holden is  a wild card in this event, jumping in at the last minute, but is a strong contender and  knows how to lay  down a  line for the judges. Holden holds the 2019 Flyin' Ryan  award which demonstrates a positive attitude, camaraderie, and genuine love for the sport of Freeride.
 
All donations will go toward trip expenses and be split among the athletes.
