Dental work due to being hit
On November 3, on her 18th birthday, Catherine Pauling's Granddaughter was walking home from her friends house. It was about 5:30pm, still quite light out. When she got to the corner of Constitution and Eagle she paused at the crosswalk until a car stopped for her. As she walked by the first car a second car came speeding by and struck her! She was thrown 10 feet and came down on the pavement hard.
After a very tence night in the ER Catherine gratefully brought her Granddaughter home (they live together). She was basically OK, but her teeth were badly damaged. She needs root canals and implants to repair the damage.
The driver did stop. And Catherine does have a lawyer. But the dental work is coming out of pocket until they can get the insurance company to pay, which could take months, or a year. Catherine has some savings, but like most of us lives very close to the edge and the thousands of dollars to repair her Granddaughter's injuries will be more than she can afford.
Please donate to help Catherine out in her time of need. She has given thousands of hours of her time to help Alameda tenants, now we need to help her.
Thank you.
