Catherine's beating Cancer again!

Talking from the Heart: A few months back I received a phone call. It was my Ear Nose and Throat Doctor. All he said was that my test came back positive for cancer and that he was going to refer me to a doctor that he would trust his mother with.  And that someone would be in touch with me. I have a million and one questions but I don't know where to start...see back in 1979 I was diagnosed with cancer also. I had High Grade Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma. Nothing good was suppose to come out of it but after a total of 9 surgeries including some facial reconstruction, 6 weeks of intense radiation, cemo and physical therapy I BEAT IT the first go round! And this time it is Squamous Cell Carcinoma. I have intention to BEAT this one TOO! But I am asking for a little help this time. The first go round I was still a teen and the adults in my life took care of the world for me. But this time it is me to take care of everything. I could surely use some help... Surgery is June 25th and I will be in the hospital in New Orleans for at least 7 days and any of my family that would like to be there will have to rent hotel rooms and pay for meals. and parking and etc. Once my hospital stay is complete I will be coming back and forth to New Orleans. The surgeon will be removing the rear left side of my tongue and the left wall of my throat and replacing with graphs that will come from my left forearm. While in surgery they will also restructure my esophagus from the first cancer and provide structure to keep it in place. They will insert a trachea (not knowing for how long) and possible peg tube for feeding. I have a long road ahead of me because there will be more surgeries to help rebuild my throat area. Social Security Disability has not been approved. My first hotel bill will be the night before surgery and not sure what expenses I will acquire while there and plus the back and forth to New Orleans along with other expenses that may be unseen at the moment having to do with the surgery.
