Catherine Needs To Be Connected

Catherine  will turn 70 on April 14th, 2018.  When she was born, her life expectancy was age 20 as she was born with cerebral palsy.  Her twin sister, Christine died at the age of 7.  As Catherine progressed through life, she learned to speak, walk, learn and eventually received a PhD from the University of California at Davis.  Walking was always difficult so she "hitch hiked" around the campus in a wheelchair in which she held a sign with the name of the building for her next class.  Students would help her get there.  Catherine married and after many years she was widowed.  Her husband, Phil, kept the same car running for years because it had a big door and the car was low to the ground.  Catherine could get in and out of that car and into a wheel chair without too much difficulty. By herself Catherine has traveled the world visiting all seven (yes all seven) continents while confined to a wheelchair.  She is ferociously independent.  Catherine has also penned multiple fictional stories and just recently an autobiography.   Her fiction all have a woman with cerebral palsy as the protagonist. 

Catherine now lives on her own in Oregon, is on a fixed income and, for most of the time house bound.  Her connection to the world is through the use of a computer.  She writes, communicates, watches videos through her computer.  Catherine is tough on the computer because her key stroking is heavy handed.  Her computer is over 10 years old and is not very breaking.  Catherine is shamelessly vocal in her emails to family and friends that she would like a new computer setup for her birthday.

My family and I have decided to attempt to satisfy her seventieth
birthday wish through Go Fund Me.  We have estimated the cost around $2500 which includes a   A Dell Asperion with some added features seems to be the best for her along with a Geed Squad set up.  We would appreciate any small amount from her family and friends to help reach the goal.
