We have a growing problem in America - Too many cats and not enough shelter space. Each year, approximately 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized in the United States. At Catfe Diem our goal is to provide a temporary and comfortable environment for cats in a transition period between getting out of their shelter cages and into their forever home.
Our cat cafe provides a warm, welcoming environment where visitors and volunteers can come and not be depressed from seeing animals in cages, lonely, scared, and longing for human interaction. It is here where our customers can engage with the cats and get to know them on a more personal level where they don't feel like they are being put on display and can act naturally. This in turn also provides more likelihood for adoption for these homeless animals.
With your donation you are helping us open the doors to our establishment and provide the necessary animal care supplies, small business materials, and construction needs to get our cat cafe project underway. Because we are still in the initial planning stages, location is subject to change, but our cat cafe will definitely be located in the Northern Virginia area - either in Prince William or Fairfax County.

Improved quality of life: The cat cafe is the temporary home for these cats, which means we foster them from our partner rescue, Paws for Seniors. Catfe Diem will be the cats' new home until they are adopted to their forever family.
Increased adoptions: By putting cats in an environment that's safe and comfortable, we give cats the chance to let their personalities shine. Which means you will fall in love with that little ball of fluff way faster than your brain can process. And you'll probably take 'em home.
More lives saved: By fostering cats, we create more space at our partner rescue for other cats in need. Their capacity increases, which means more cats can be cared for. Euthanasia rates decrease. This is the future of cat adoptions!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Your admission fee pays for entry to the cat lounge, free wifi, and one beverage of your choice. Visitors will pay an hourly cover charge or a flat daily rate.
Guests will be able to book reservations at the cat cafe. All adoptions will go through Paws for Seniors.
