Catechetics: Fixing Confirmation

The last complete look at teaching the faith in the Lutheran Church was published over 100 years ago. It's a classic. It addresses the challenges of 1917. But it doesn't address the challenges we face today. I've written Catechetics to address our needs. It's just about ready to go.
But it needs to have a professional look it over to find the last few errors, and give it the final polish. That costs money. Not a lot of money. But with two more kids to get braces, and another just starting college, it's more than I can swing right now. Publishing books isn't a money making venture these days. It's a labor of love. If I could get these books published professionally, and into your hands for free, I would totally do that. But I can't. The goal of writing my books is to at least break even. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. But I've never had a book this big before. And it's one that will never pay for itself. I think it's an important conversation to have. But to have it, I need your help.
Anyone who has taught in the church knows the challenges we face. Finding a curriculum, motivating parents, providing meaningful instruction, and fighting constantly against ever-more-crowded schedules. It seems impossible. There aren't easy answers to these problems. But there are answers, if we're willing to roll up sleeves and get to work. But what work? There are so many different programs, ideas, thoughts, how can we tell the good from the bad?
Catechetics is the study of teaching the faith. It gives you the tools to know what is a good idea, and what is a bad one. It doesn't answer every question, and the answers it gives are not easy. But it gives a framework for talking about it, for facing the challenges head on.
Conformation is broken. But we can work to fix it.
