Cat Benatar's Cancer Surgery

Donation protected
I adopted Cat Benatar in May of 2012. She was 6 months old and pooped in my car on the way home. I was instantly in love. She has been my constant companion through break ups, college, and the reality of adult life. Last year a brown coloring started to form in the corner of her left eye. I didn't think much of it at the time and my vets never mentioned anything during her checkups. Within a half a year the color had spread further around the ring of her eye, but the vets still didn't seem concerned. Within the last three months the spot had continued to grow this time reaching further toward her iris, and I decided to take her in. This time I had a different vet who was concerned and tests were completed. It was quickly determined after the results that she had melanoma in her iris but luckly it had not spread to other parts of her body. The vet's recommendation was removal of the eye within the next few months but it was going to cost $800 plus testing before to make sure the cancer had not spread.

Baby Benatar! This was the photo from the adoption website. I stalked it daily for about a month while I saved to get her!

Benatar is only four years old and has the chance to live a long and happy life as a one eyed cat but she needs surgery soon. I am working in retail full time while I search for a full-time job in my field and I cannot realistily save that much within my vets time frame while paying my bills and her vet bills from the first round of testing. She is my furbaby and I would appreciate any help toward her surgery. I have always believed that animals deserve the same love and compassion that humans do and I take my responsbility as her caregiver seriously. I feel must do anything in my power to protect and care for her and I feel like I am failing because my financial reality right now doesn't allow me to do that. Anything will help, I am saving every last penny that I can to put toward her surgery but I want to make sure it happens before it becomes a situation that she cannot recover from.
