Casey was an avid equestrian who had big goals in the hunter world. She was meticulous in the care of her horses, especially her dear Duncan, who had surgery just before Casey's untimely death. Donations are being accepted to defray the cost of Duncan's surgery. Donations will also go to Womenspace, which works to help victims of domestic violence.

Ride on, Casey.

*In light of the generosity of the community and because of my own inexperience in navigating this type of thing I have changed the goal amount. We are so grateful for all the love and support expressed here. We are deeply touched by the generosity of those who knew and loved Casey and from the kind words and donations from those who didn't. We are thrilled that we can cover Duncan's surgery and make a considerable donation to Womenspace. We thank you so much for your support.

I will miss Casey dearly. She had been a good friend of mine for the past 12 years. I can only hope justice is met and the circle of violence can end here.

Casey lived down the street from me. I didn't know her well, but admired her jumping skills. Duncan is a great horse and I hope he recovers well and a sweet spirit like Casey can love him the rest of his days.

This makes me sick. So sad for her family, and for that horse who will surely be wondering where she is when he needs her. I would donate more if I could.

I am so very sorry. It breaks my heart to see a young, beautiful girl like Casey die such a tragic, violent death and her life cut so terribly short. I am certain that she was as beautiful inside as she was on the outside. Some of my dear friends knew her. I hope she has horses to tend to in heaven. I am certain that our beloved animals are a part of such a special place. God bless.
