World & European Championships

Can you see that absolute surprise my eyes? That I, me, is winning that race? 

I couldn't believe it. And since I have had more of those moments. I have made my track cycling dreams come true. I have done things I never ever even dared to dream about.

How?  Simple: never quit, never give up, keep chasing dreams, keep moving forward, always do better.

I'm defending World Masters Champion 2016 in all my 3 events. I broke a world record twice, but only once got it ratified. I'm still chasing my first European title. I won all my 4 events at the world masters games last April, but I know I can do better.

I need funds this time to make it happen with racing moving so far away from home.

To give you some idea of my expenses:
*Entry fee world championships LA $475,-
*Entry fee European championships €140,-
*Accommodation European championship €190,-
*Additional costs bike transport flights to LA €250,-
*Accommodation Airbnb LA €695,-
*Doping control if I break the world record for ratification €500,-
*Rental car in LA €549,-
*+insurance, petrol, food in LA....€?

Thankfully I have a lot of people supporting me already!!!:
*An Airmiles gift that made a huge difference in expenses for the flight to LA.
*People offering me a place to stay, let me use their rollers bikes, kitchens...
The people you meet in cycling are awesome!
*A spontaneous financial gift from a friend after my breakdown on FB after I entered the world championships and found out how expensive it all will be.

That gift made me think that maybe I should give this a go and ask for help, although I'm puzzled why anyone would help me?

I learned a lot from being an "old" master bike rider.
As a coach I hope to share my knowledge and what I have learned on this journey. I hope to inspire (young) people to dream, to show that you are always young and that you should and can always chase your dreams.
