Tragic update from the Humane Society of Louisiana: pet rescuer loses home, vehicle and two pets. Angel Carmouche, from Mansura, Louisiana, never had much, but the Carmouche family always went out of their way to help abused and stray animals in their parish. They would take in strays, reported cruelty and even testified in court against suspected abusers. On this past 4th of July holiday, however, the Carmouche family lost virtually all their worldly belongings in a tragic fire that consumed their home in a matter of minutes.
