Carlee's Brown S.T.E.M. Fund

My name is Carlee Reid and I am twelve years old. I attend a middle school in Stamford, CT.  Recently, I was accepted into the SPARK S.T.E.M.-1 summer program at Brown University. While I am very grateful and excited for my opportunity, I find myself having to remember the real business at hand; raising the money to go.  The cost of the program is $4086. Brown encourages students to be resourceful and to build leadership skills by effective planning, perseverance and creativity to pay their way.

I am working on various ways to fundraise. I am conducting a tee-shirt campaign via Booster to give girls the courage and confidence to acquire their love for S.T.E.M. The campaign can be seen here: https://www.booster.com/carlees-stem-brown-fund

I am also selling the self-published book by my mother and I based on my past challenges and meant to inspire little girls to embrace their beauty (coming soon). https://www.createspace.com/5990085

I am also hoping to have a tag and a bake sale.

Lastly, straight up donations are also accepted, so anyone who is generous enough to donate will be able to. 

I myself see a career in the S.T.E.M. field and hopefully going to Brown will help narrow down my specific interests. I selected the Mechanical Engineering course as my area of study for the summer.

 Any support will be greatly appreciated. Not only will the program enhance my academic abilities, but I hope to give back to my local elementary schools by conducting fun, hands on S.T.E.M. afterschool opportunities geared towards girls to help grow an interest at an early age.
