Our family is so overwhelmingly appreciative of all of the support, love and compassion you have given us and our mom.

Mom has been cremated and is home with me (Rashell) until after the memorial service scheduled for February 25th, after which she will rest at St. Mary's Cemetary.

We have reached our goal which is allowing us to fulfill our mom's final resting place wishes; again due to the support of all of you.

We respectfully ask if any further donations are made, they be made in her memory to the
ALS Association of Sacramento at

Thank you again, and for those who I have not had a chance to thank personally, it is not without heartfilled intent.

January 6th, 2017, our mom lost the battle against ALS.
Our family is so appreciative of the support of this campaign that allowed us to assist her with her many expenses and have given us a the ability to begin her final expense preparations.
We graciously ask that you share this link with your families and friends to help us reach our final goal.

Not everyone gets the opportunity to be with their loved ones in the days before they pass.  We were blessed to be able to spend the holidays with her and every day we were together was a moment to cherish.
We were able to share our love with her and her's with us and say goodbye before the goodbye was taken from us.

We are forever grateful to our caregivers; Kimber, Shirley, Cynthia, Myriam and most of all Luz; who was the one mom chose to have with her in her final breath so as not to make the emotional distress burden her children.
Just like any mom; she was still protecting her children from pain.

We miss her immensely but rest assured knowing that she is dancing and singing and rollerskating.....watching over us.

We love you!

Original campaign:
If you ask “PJ’s” kids what their favorite memories are of their mother, they would tell you, roller skating down the block with her, dancing until the music stopped , road trips to the Bay to see family, and of course, walking into a sparkling house that smelled of whatever amazing dish she was cooking for dinner.

While we know we are so blessed to still have our mom with us, she unfortunately was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). Which has not only robbed her of her ability to dance, walk, stand or to even flutter about her kitchen, but there is the looming dark cloud that lurks quietly in the background that ALS is degenerative, and as Mom puts it herself “It’s just plain weird. On any given day, something I was able to do yesterday, I’m not able to do today. And the reality is, I don’t know how much longer I have with my family”.

The dark cloud looms but PJ's spirit shines brightly day after day and she is making each moment with her family and loved ones her most cherished.  PJ has 5 children, nieces, nephews, countless grandchildren and yes, even a GREAT grandson!   She also has a long list of friends that create a circle of love around her.  Because of her ...  another kind of family evolved.  PJ has and continues to be a blessing to many, many people.  Her strength and courage and faith is a true inspiration.

With a compassionate heart for helping others, it's been a challenge for her to ask for help, but she's in a situation where Help and Hope are necessary for meeting her daily physical needs, as well as some heavy financial ones.

She spent her life as a dedicated homemaker, investing in her family, which has been very rewarding, unfortunately, there is a high financial burden of living with ALS and her expenses have become very difficult for her.  Among those expenses are funeral costs.

We thank all those who have and will help PJ and her family through this painful and hard journey they endure both emotionally and finanically. Our hearts are deeply grateful.

What little comfort we can provide does make all the difference in her last days of life.  All of your thoughts and prayers are so greatly appreciated and treasured.

On behalf of all of the family members, friends, and Angels, we truly, truly thank you.

As our brother David says, "Our mom has ALS but ALS doesn't have her".  A Spirit of of Everlasting.

Blessings
