Caring for Jerry

On February 29, 2016, our baby brother Jerry LaMattery, 24, was pursuing his dream to become a world champion boxer when he sustained a major brain injury while sparring in the gym. Jerry was brought to the hospital where he had surgery to relieve swelling and remove blood that had built up around his brain. He has been in a coma since his injury, on life support, and fighting for his life.
Jerry has been hospitalized in Los Angeles, CA, where he is receiving the best care available. Our parents have traveled from Japan and we have driven across state to care for Jerry. We are aiming to have someone at his bedside 24/7 during his recovery in ICU.
We are asking for your help. The money you donate will be used to pay for the unexpected and unplanned costs of caring for Jerry. These are adding up, and your donations will help relieve us from these financial concerns so we can focus on Jerry who is now in the Intensive Care Unit and potentially in need of long-term care.
The support, love, and strength of family and friends have been a refuge during this time of hardship. Thank you for fighting for Jerry and for helping us care for him.
