Care Musical & Art Exchange, Inc. (CMAE), a 501(c)(3) organization, was established in May 2015 to help nurture the talents of children and teens from 8 to 18 years old from low to moderate income families. Our mission is to provide financial assistance to gifted and talented youth in the Greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas for the purpose of furthering their fine arts education and cultivating their musical and artistic abilities.
Through a generous donation from one of our first supporters, Farmers & Merchants Bank in Downey, CA, CMAE has already been able to provide funds for guitar lessons for 20 students at the Boys & Girls Club of Whitter as well as art supplies for art classes at the Boys & Girls Club of Tustin.
With your help, we can support even MORE children in music and the arts. Budget cuts have virtually eliminated music and art classes in schools. What will happen to our future without the innovative, creative thinking needed to fuel our advancement and intellect?
According to PBS Parents (http://www.pbs.org): "Research has found that learning music facilitates learning other subjects and enhances skills that children inevitably use in other areas. Music learning supports all learning." In addition, "Simple creative activities are some of the building blocks of child development. Learning to create and appreciate visual aesthetics may be more important than ever to the development of the next generation of children as they grow up." In short, music and art are the stepping stones to a lifetime of success!
