Caracciolo Family

On Monday October 1st, Guy went in for a total hip replacement. His surgery went great, he went home, and his rehab was going great. On Monday, October 22nd Guy went in for his follow up expecting to get clearance to return to work on Tuesday, but instead, he was sent directly to the ICU. After three nights, the culture that they aspirated from his new hip joint tested positive for an infection. The next course of action was to remove the new hip and place an antibiotic spacer in for 6 weeks. He basically has no hip right now, until he has surgery for his new hip in January, so until then he’s only able to weight bear 50% and will only be able to walk using 2 crutches. If having no hip and not being able to walk wasn’t enough he also has a lot of new orthopedic and medical restrictions, a PICC line, and 6 weeks of IV antibiotics.
All this is not only incredibly difficult for Guy and Sarah they also have 2 young boys, Nico 6 yrs old and Enzo 4 yrs old who have been so helpful and understanding but as you can imagine this is difficult on them too.

We are hoping we; their friends, family and community can all rally together and show our support for Guy, Sarah, Nico and Enzo during this difficult time while Guy is out of work and Sarah is having to take time herself to bring him back and forth to all his doctors appointments. It has been over a month since Guy last worked and it is expected he will be out another 3-5 months. With the winter months and holiday season coming, lets give the Caracciolo’s the support they need so Guy can work on his recovery and Sarah’s focus can be on their family.
