CAPE COD’S ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS NEEDS YOUR HELP!
The Academy of Performing Arts has been an incredible asset to the performing Arts community. Through our halls, classrooms, studios and stages have passed Oscar, Emmy and Grammy Award winners, professional dancers for Alvin Ailey and Ballet companies around the world, movie and television actors, producers and directors in New York and Los Angeles, artistic directors throughout the United States, Broadway performers, large market Newscasters, Disc Jockeys and even stuntmen. Many of our former students have gone on to careers in arts education passing on the lessons and magic of the Academy of Performing Arts.
Unfortunately, things have not gone well in our hallowed halls over the last few years. Our future is at a crossroads and we are all in danger of losing this staple of our community. We are now working with former Academy of Performing Arts artistic director Ted Vitale and others who are volunteering their time to help right this wonderful and beloved institution to help ensure the survival of the School and Playhouse.
If you valued your time at the Academy, whether in class or on stage, if you fondly remember your time studying with Elaine Chase, Kathy Whitelaw, David McCarty, Dick Stocks or any other of our amazing past and present faculty or if you enjoyed a show at our historic Playhouse. Share the experience you had with us and ask them to help make sure that the current and next generation of arts students, fans and future professionals on Cape Cod have the same opportunities that so many other people have had since 1975 thanks to the Academy of Performing Arts.
