We are raising money for Canon Education - a STEM-education social enterprise based in Lagos Nigeria.
Why?: There are over 34 Million Children in Sub-saharan Africa who are not attending school, of which Nigeria accounts for over 20% of this figure. To address this problem low-income schools, have sprung up across Nigeria in an effort to provide an alternative to the failing state school system. These low-income schools are in need of structural and resource support in order to meet the needs of their students who come from very poor homes.
Canon Education is partnering with Seed Circle Nigeria on its Adopt-A-School Programme. As part of its commitment to Digital Education, Canon Education is raising money to purchase computers for two primary schools in low-income areas of Lagos Nigeria.
Canon Education's role: With your help, Canon Education will install computer labs in these two schools and will employ a qualified teacher to teach digital literacy skills.
Your role: By giving a suggested generous donation of at least £20, (or whatever you can give) your donation will ensure Canon Education is able to equip these two schools with functioning computer labs.
