Cannabis Information and Support

Donation protected
In December 2016 National Cannabis Prevention and Information Centre (NCPIC) was defunded by the Turnbull Coalition Government.  This was at the same time that medicinal cannabis was legalised in Australia; leaving no source of independent, evidence-based information about harms (as well as benefits), along with proven intervention resources for the Australian and international communities of interest.

All government attention is belatedly focussed on crystal methamphetamine and the far more widely used drug cannabis is ignored despite international patterns of increasing levels of use (particularly where medicinal use is legalised). The riskier pattern of daily use is also becoming far more common.  I have chosen to take on this website as a voluntary project to maintain the resources to the community.

I greatly appreciate UNSW agreeing to provide me with a license to use the resources my colleagues and I developed over the past 25 years of research in the field of brief interventions; especially the nine years of NCPIC, to once again make many of them available to you.

The opinions expressed at www.cannabissupport.com.au are purely my own.  I have no funding so if you would like to see this website maintained and the smartphone app Joint Effort, an evidence-based intervention to quit/reduce cannabis use, available again please support me in the hosting and related costs.
