My loving wife of three years Candice has made a generous decision from her heart recently concerning her Brother-In-Law David Guerra. David is a type 2 Diabetic and is in the final stages of renal failure. "Big Dave" as family and friends have known him is on the list for kidney transplant for some time now but will need the dependency of dialysis treatments soon because as we all are aware the wait for the list of an available kidney can be long.
This is where my awesome wife comes in. Candice out of the goodness and fullness of her heart under her own will and charity has volunteered to be a living kidney donor for David in order that he may have a life without the need of a machine. Candice guided by what she could only describe as divine influence spoke up one day and offered that she would like to see if she could possibly be a match and after a month of extensive testing we were told that she is in good health and physical shape for her age to be a donor and that she is a perfect match for Big Dave.
Now we have made it to the final stretch of this courageous journey. We just got the call two days ago from the hospital and have a date set for the donation and transplant this April at the Texas Transplant Institute at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Candice is very excited and of course David is too (that goes without saying).
So what brings us here to gofundme is of course we hope to get help with the expenses that my wife and I will need to bare in her generosity because without dancing around the truth we are blessed in family, home and work we just don't make a lot of money between the both of us so the the trip and stay for the coming event will be a burden on an already stretched budget. Candice will also be out of work for up to three and possibly four weeks as she recovers at home with limitations in lifting as recommended by the physicians and aside to FMLA that she will file she does not have any sick time off from her work place nor personal vacation days.
Candice is a super hero in my eyes and she is doing something that I have yet to witness personally within my lifetime. What a wonderful example of love, grace and sacrifice and one that should have no limit in reward. Pray for us for a successful transplant and recovery and thank you in advance for your generosity and God bless you all.
