Cancer Fund For Steve Moran

I’m starting a GoFund me on behalf of my Auntie Linda and Uncle Steve. My Aunt Linda wasn’t quite sure how to go about starting a GoFund me and my Uncle Steve is too sick. Both of them aren’t the type who are comfortable asking for help, but they need it and asked if I could help them with this process. Please take a minute to read this. I love these two so much. My uncle has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. As you can imagine, they are both in complete shock. Before Christmas Steve started having really bad back pain and was hesitant to go to the doctor. When his back pain worsened and moved to his abdomen causing terrible pain, he knew something was very wrong and went to the Dr. After X-rays, tests and blood work etc., Steve and Linda were hit with the shocking news that Steve has pancreatic cancer through the CT Scan. At this point surgery is not an option and chemo therapy seems to be the next step. Currently Steve is in a lot of pain, the doctor has given him medicine to try to combat the discomfort but Steve is confined to bed most of the time. One of the many fears that this family is facing right now is the potential that Steve may lose his shop during this difficult time. By profession Steve builds Custom Fly Rods & other artistic wood art pieces out of his shop, this is how he runs his business. To lose his shop would be a huge loss for this family and I really don’t want to see that happen or have them worrying about that happening. For Steve not being able to work is also a fanatical burden and source of stress. My aunt has a full time job with a local property management company but as you can imagine, has needed to take time off, unpaid, to be with my Uncle for all of their appointments. What they are going through right now is hard, unimaginable for most, and shocking, but together I believe we can get through anything. Please let’s all come together for this sweet family. They need us. The latest update I have is as follows: “he went to the Oncologist yesterday. He has to have another gastric scope down his throat to get a biopsy of the pancreas & liver. The also inserted a celiac plexus block, which blocks the pain nerves from the pancreas. He did start a pain patch yesterday (he has been in sooooooo much pain and pain meds don’t agree with him as they make him nauseated, dizzy & light headed) The Patch worked really good for the pain, but he was up all night throwing up and is very nauseated. He also has to have another CT and MRI before they start the chemo.” Reading this is shocking and heart breaking to me. I hate to imagine my Uncle in this situation. It hurts to think of anyone going through this. In my Aunt’s own words “I can’t believe this is happening.” I can relate to that feeling, I think anyone who has been through a trauma or presented with traumatic news can relate to that helpless feeling. I know in our darkest time my husband Josh and I had a special group of people to come along side of us, to help us during a situation that didn’t seem to have any good. People who did what it took to help us where we were. More than anything I want to surround these two wonderful people in love and I want to ease any of their burdens that we possibly can. While Steve does have Medicare A/B he doesn’t have a supplemental or Prescription coverage. If you can pray that my aunt Linda and uncle Steve will not feel alone during this journey, that although we cannot fix their current situation we will come along side them in it and remind them they are not alone.
