Campout for a Cause

It all started one evening in late November. Finals were looming, and the freezing temperatures and wintry grey skies forced my housemate and me indoors. All of a sudden a frigid blast of wind rattled the house. With gratefulness for our warm house at the forefront of his mind, my housemate jokingly dared, "What are the odds you sleep outside in a tent for a month during the spring?" Undaunted, I responded, "One in Ten." Unfortunately, due to the rules of the game of Odds, after we both uttered "SEVEN" at the same moment, I knew I was doomed to a long month in my tent in the front yard---or else face the humiliation of not fulfilling my end of the game, and getting slapped.
My goal is to raise $3,000 for the International Rescue Commission in Charlottesville, a wonderful organization that provides services to help refugees get acclimated into our community. Check out the work the IRC is doing!
Will you commit to giving $1 for each night I spend in my tent over the next month? Or how 'bout taking it week by week? Give $7 this week, see how my campout is going, and decide to give $7 more next week. Rinse and repeat twice. Together we can reach this goal and help our vulnerable brothers and sisters thrive in Charlottesville.
