Campervan for Troubadour Stefan

Hi,
My name is Stefan van de Sande.
I am a Troubadour & Songwriter.
I travel through Europe to make a living.
To share my music and stories.




By means of transport I use my old Volkswagen.
After 750,000 km and 18 years of loyal service it requires replacement.
And as such I am asking for your help.


To allow me to continue touring I need an amount of approx. € 10.000 for a Campervan.

THE STORY


Troubadour

Hi, my name is Stefan van de Sande. I was born and raised in The Netherlands. For many years I had a paid job to earn my living, but it was not satisfactory. I wanted to do something more fulfilling. So seven years ago I decided to quit my job and become a self employed musician. From then onwards my life became much more rewarding doing the things that my heart was in and which had my full interest.

It goes without saying that making a living as a travelling musician is challenging for there are many other good musicians around. But with determination, a positive attitude and great passion, it is quite possible to tour and live as a troubadour in the way I do.

Over the past seven years I have received many rewards and I have encountered many beautiful people.


From time to time I record a new CD in order that people may enjoy my music at home. I feel it is my calling in life to create beautiful songs and to share them with others. This gives me joy and pleasure every day.

As someone from Newcastle-upon-Tyne pointed out: 

"If you listen to his lyrics you'll realize he has important messages, but he doesn't preach, it's all very relaxed and friendly; he is one of the good guys. Go to see him - you'll be glad you did."
 

Traveling

Traveling through Europe I have been using my old Volkswagen Golf Tdi 1.9, which is a very solid and safe car. As I cover app. 60-70,000 km a year it goes without saying that the care requires regular maintenance and repairs. Unfortunately after many years of loyal service and 755,000 km on the odometer its engine needs huge expensive repairs. So all in all it looks like I will have to part with my beloved car in the near future. It will be a sad thing to do so because it has taken me everywhere, to all the countries where I have played and met so many people and friends. A car that has never let me down come rain or snow. My car has become my trademark, respected by my audience.


Campervan

Now that I have decided to look for another car the question arises: What car? For years I have been wishing for a used Campervan with simple sleeping and cooking facilities. In order to find such a replacement, I will need a budget in the region of8,000 -  € 10,000.

Such a Campervan will have to meet the following requirements:

- Solid, strong and durable so that it may last some 500,000 km 
- Economical in use (size) and reliable (a VW or Mercedes comes to mind)
- Enough space for my guitars and additional equipment
- Basic sleeping and cooking facilities to make me more independent


Crowdfunding

To live as a fulltime musician and to earn enough to make both ends meet, requires creativity, courage, health, attitude, knowledge, skills, kindness, patience, and an adventurous way of life. I have been blessed with most of these requirements and I feel privileged by my way of life.

As a travelling artist however, I can not fall back on any state allowances. As a result of which I am currently unable to purchase another means of transport and that is why I have started this crowdfunding.
