Rather than get rid of the hot-rod after entering retirement or growing able to spend $1-3K to restock the array's with matched and new drives, why not be truly intelligent and rescale the system to a manageable level for dollars and performance. So instead I think $125 to add USB3 to the Mac, So rather than the $400-600 to redo the Raid10 8tb Library1 Array, and the fear theree is that I have7 of these arrays, 2 dormant for a total of 9, 9x500--4500) is just not a manageable expense, but with this new approach I spend $600 and I'm done with the storage issue, with another $170-for a mobile copy to be able to give these films and vids to the people that would like them.
