Campaigning in Texas for Beto!

Many of you follow, and engage with me in my political conversations on Facebook. You've been there, and rooted me on, as I have fought for, and worked to elect, candidates that I truly believe in. You were with me throughout the Hillary for America Campaign, Juliette Kayyem for Governor, and Conor Lamb for Rep. A few of you have been with me since I volunteered for my very first campaign for Obama in '08.
But more than any election, in any year, that I have ever been a part of, this election is the most important of my life. Of any of our lives.
Because it is so essential that the Democrats take back at least one (and hopefully two) houses of congress I have decided to travel down to Dallas TX, to spend the last week before I start my job as an attorney volunteering for the Beto O'Rourke campaign.
As many of you know Beto is running to unseat Ted Cruz, one of this nation's most staunch opponents of women's health issues, LGBTQ issues, affordable healthcare, investments in education, climate change and the list goes on and on and on. Beto is among the most passionate, energetic, and charismatic candidates I have ever seen and I've been hooked on him from the first moment I heard him speak.
Texas is a state where I spent a lot of time while I toured the country playing music. I have met some of the most amazing people I know in Texas, and I care very much for the state's future. That is why I am so excited to do all I can to make sure Texas elects Beto as their next Senator.
Ariel has been unbelievably supportive of my doing this, despite that it is our last week together before I begin the most extreme work schedule of my life. But I promised that I would try and figure out a way to fund this work without dipping into our savings. I figure I need about $500 and that if some of those people who have enjoyed watching the work I've done on other campaigns are willing to donate even $10, I should be able to raise the money I need to help Beto defeat Ted Cruz, and to restore some sanity and order to our nation.
