Mission:
The US Green Building Council New Jersey Chapter (USGBC NJ ) is a not for profit 501 (c)3 whose mission is to be NJ's foremost resource promoting the planning, design, construction, and operation/maintenance of buildings, communities, cities and schools that are environmentally responsible, cost effective, productive, and healthy places to live, learn and work. The vision is “To transform the way our buildings and communities are designed, built and operated to be resilient to climate change, enabling an environmentally and socially responsible, healthy, and prosperous environment that improves the quality of life and overall economic development of our state. We accomplish our mission through education, advocacy and collaboration.”

You can help us provide the following types of programs and services:
• Offer over 150 educational programs,
• Offer events, green building tours, and research studies state-wide,
• Donate to student groups and colleges,
• Offer Sustainable Master Plan services to our public schools,
• Assist our Buildings, Communities and Cities become certified,
• Train our veterans and unemployed,
• Advocate and champion legislation such as Green Buildings, Schools, Cities and Communities, Clean Water, and Renewable Energy,
• Offer a Summer Green Educational program to underserved youth
• Recognize and showcase organizations, leaders and companies in New Jersey who have improved our environment and communities.

The state of New Jersey, according to the The Booz Allen Hamilton Green Building Economic Impact Study can see the following benefits from our program:
• Green Construction between 2015 – 2018 will grow and contribute
          • $20.5 Billion in GDP
          • 241,000 jobs and create labor earnings of $13.7 Billion
• LEED Certification between 2015 – 2018 will grow and contribute
          • $8.0 Billion in GDP
          • 92,000 jobs and create $156
