A little Story About Cameron's Journey

Hi my name is Cameron Rowley and I was on holiday with my family in March 2015 and I didn't feel very well I thought it was because I had a bug and was just under the weather. I didn't make a fuss about how I was feeling as I knew it cost lots of money for me to see a doctor in Mexico. I wanted to enjoy my holiday with all my family for my uncle Scott and Jemma's Wedding.

I really enjoyed my holiday and when I got home I went to see an out of hours doctor she thought that I was just being a bit stupid and that I might not have anything wrong with me, I was given a once over and sent home very sick and not feeling very good. I had a restless nights sleep and was sick quite a few times my mum took me to A&E they carried out some tests and I was admitted to hospital.

My mum and dad were told that I had Cancer and that the best treatment I could receive would be from Alder Hey in Liverpool. I was transferred to Alder Hey and spent the next 6 months on Chemotherapy trying to get rid of the horrible disease, I then had a big operation where they cut a hole in my stomach and tried to remove as much of the nasty horrible tumours as they could. The treatment I was receiving was not very nice at all but I knew I had to have it done.

My next treatment was Radiotherapy treatment at the Clatterbridge Cancer Trust, this involved radiotherapy everyday for 6 weeks, this really made me quite sick and took a lot of my energy. I was then told that my tumours had shrunk and that the treatment was working, I had to go onto a Chemotherapy maintenance program to try and keep my tumours under control.

This was all going well until my last scan showed re-growth of my tumours, my consultant told my mum and dad that the chemotherapy was no longer working. My cancer is very rare and there is not a lot of people in the world who know a lot about it. I have had to start a new chemotherapy.

I am just a normal 10 year old boy who loves school, playing with my friends and when I have the energy and I am feeling good then I like to play for my football team.

Dad...........
We were informed last month that unfortunately the tumour was showing signs of regrowth, the only option was another type of chemotherapy which would have the sole purpose of prolonging his long and improving his quality of life for the remainder of his days with us or if we were to not take that option then his prognosis would be 2-3 months. Quite a lot of people have the option of going to other countries for treatment but because Cameron's cancer is very rare this is not an option for us.

I really don't know how long we have left with Cameron whether this will be his last Christmas with us, the prognosis is not very good for Cameron's type of cancer. There are lots of things I would love to do with him and his brothers and any donation would be greatly appreciated and would help put a smile on his little face and also help his brothers spend some quality time with him.
