30 years ago Rev. Al Stewart had a vision for the then abandon building which was once home to the Camden Rescue Mission a nonprofit organization that had been in the city of Camden since 1928.  His vision was to help those in need no matter your your race, creed or nationality.  He started by offering assistance to the homeless and feeding the less fortunate but the Mission grew as the years went by from being able to get families out of shelters into furnished apartments to annual events just catering to children.  He didn't do all this work by himself at his side his wife of 33 years Mercedes and their 5 children gave a helping hand in the Mission work. They have an annual Christmas celebration for children that has served over 10,000 children and continues to grow .

Last year Rev. Stewart was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer and as modest and humble that he is he and the family dealt with it and continue to do the work of helping others.  An operation and 12 weeks of radiation and kimo therapy later the Rev. won the first battle of cancer.  Feeling exhausted and tired he still would go and sit at the mission waiting on someone to come needing  his help.  About a month ago , they
found multiple nodgels In his throat and he  will start treatment and possibly another surgery and radiation.

Rev. Stewart needs your help so that he and the family won't have to think of bills, or anything needed at the Mission to help others please donate to keep his vision alive.
