Humanitarian Expedition to Cambodia

I am planning to go on an expedition to Cambodia in 2020 for a four-week project to build houses and schools for children in one of the poorest countries in the world. We will also be planting trees—their forests have been depleted at an alarming rate. We will sow seeds to enable people to continue doing so after we have gone, and they can grow their own food and sell some to ensure they live better.

Affected by the biggest genocide since the Holocaust, Cambodia has a population with 70% of it being children who have limited access to education or adequate living conditions—unless people like me and those who run Camp International step in to help—and people like you who donate to causes like this.

The aim of the project I want to participate in is to build somewhere for people to live. For example, currently, over fifteen family members share the same small room in a “long house”, an open-plan building on stilts, where there is no privacy. I will also be helping to give them access to an education, as in some places, young children stay on a waiting list and may never learn in their lifetime—unless we give them the support they need.

However, the cost of the trip must be fundraised—it’s one of the stipulations—so donations are needed. If you can spare any money at all, this can be used to aid those less fortunate than ourselves. I would sincerely appreciate your donation, however small.

If the money isn’t raised for me to go in time, the funds raised at that point will be sent to Camp International, and they will use it for the people who need it, so regardless, you will be helping me to help them.
