Callisto’s Medical Bills
Donation protected
UPDATE 8/15
First off, thank you so, so much for your financial and emotional support. Our family was delighted and overwhelmed by your outpouring of support, and your generosity allowed us to cover most of his initial medical expenses.
Unfortunately, our buddy’s recovery is looking a bit more involved than we anticipated. We took Callisto to his regular vet yesterday to check in after his full course of medication was complete, and while he was more bright-eyed and feisty than he was before, he has lost weight and was still showing the initial liver symptoms and was referred to the emergency room for overnight treatment and more rigorous testing.
He is currently at Angell Memorial in Waltham awaiting blood testing results and an ultrasound so we can pinpoint the issue and get the best treatment possible for him, but this also means his vet bills have at least tripled with the and we are struggling to afford the current bill and any subsequent bills. I will post the expense breakdown below to give everyone an idea of what we are looking at now and in the future.
We greatly appreciate support of any size to help us bring our very special friend home happy & healthy.
Cost break down:
Current 48 hour hospital stay with fluids, meds, and labs deposit- $2200
Estimated range for 48 hour stay- 2400-3400 dollars
Ultrasound and additional labs range-600 - 2000 dollars
Lyft to and from appointments- 250 dollars
Additional costs (special food, medicine, etc) - 300 dollars
Again, thank you so, so much from the bottom of all of our hearts.
-Team Callisto
—————————————
Our sweet and dandy boy Callisto needs your help.
On July 12, we noticed Callisto was not his normal feisty self. He was lethargic, sad, and not the normal treats monster we were used to.
He was starting to show signs of perking up, but on July 14th his condition got worse.
We brought him to the ER where they were able to identify pancreatitis and elevated liver values that can lead to Fatty Liver Disease.
He has had this issue once before, and was able to 100% recover with the proper regiment. Luckily, we were able to catch it early this time, so his treatment plan is less aggressive but still quite costly for our household.
Because of COVID, we have lost a large amount of our income generated by Holy Crow, and a large vet bill like this can really set back our now single income household.
Your donation will greatly mitigate the impact and help us give our lovely kitty the treatment he needs to continue to snuggle, love, inspire, and be the best cat in the world.
The breakdown:
850 - Current ER bill, meds, special food, and rides back and forth to and from the hospital, and Gofundme fees
150- Follow up visits, possible additional treatment options.
Thank you so, so much for helping out this special buddy of ours.
