Callie's Heart Fund

$545 of $2,000 goal

We are at that time again, another trip to California for Callie to have a check up. Callie's last surgery the fenestrated Fontan was in January 2016 - so we are extremely blessed to have not had to visit California in 2 and half years. Callie has been doing great and I really could not ask for anything more.  A brief history for those who may not be familiar,  Callie was born with a very rare and complex form of Congenital Heart Defects that requires us to travel from Florida to California. We have been traveling back and forth for the past 10 years. Callie was born with a single ventricular, pulmonary atresia with an intact ventricular septum, pulmonary vein stenosis and MAPCAs.  She has had 11 heart surgeries and more heart caths then I can even count - I lost track around 15. You can visit this link if you would like to read more about her journey http://www.caringforcallie.com/  Due to the complexity of her heart, her team in California feels it is important for her to have another heart cath. We are hoping this cath will be purely diagnostic and everything will look great! Callie has appointments starting Monday, June 4th and her procedure will be June 5th.   We are very appreciative to each and every single one of you, who have continued to support us over the years. If you would, please pray for Callie and our family during this time - for the anxiety of this upcoming procedure and safe travels.

Callie has her MRI today at 3pm, she has to remain still for 1 hour. Please pray she can do this and is not too anxious about the whole process. We won't get any results till tomorrow when we meet with doctor. She has multiple appointments tomorrow and we are praying for positive news.

Thank you to everyone for all your prayers and generosity during this time. We definitely were not expecting to be out here this long and all the added expenses that come with that.

I will update tomorrow once we meet with doctors and determine what the next steps are.

Callie did well with her heart cath, she did stay overnight for observation - since there were something's that they had to deal with in the cath lab. We are just waiting for her to be discharged so we can rest at the Ronald McDonald House, always hard to get a good night sleep in the hospital. Callie is in good spirits this morning and eating some yummy breakfast. I will post later with all the details from the cath, it was a lot of information and I need time to figure out the best way to explain it all. Callie is a very complex patient and as she is getting older the gears are changing from needing a surgeries, to more how to maintain the best life for her with the best quality care she can possibly receive.
