The Cailfon First Aid Squad is a completely nonprofit organization that is all volunteer trying to raise money to purchase much-needed newer equipmet to help us better serve the Borough of Califon residents and surrounding areas.
The Califon First Aid and Rescue Squad was founded back in 1956. Throughout the years our squad has had its good times and it's bad times. Over the past year the squad has gained several new members, which is great, but the down side is the price for uniforms, training, and equipment has gone up.
The Califon First Aid Squad owns two ambulances, a rescue truck, with vehicle rescue equipment on it, and an EMS bike team.
The Califon First Aid and Rescue Squad does not bill our patients nor insurance companies and survives and runs on donations from our community. But through the years, donations have gone down.
The Califon squad uses donations to maintain our vehicles and our equipment. Donations also go to the purchase of new equipment.
As First Responders the members are trained in the latest techniques and equipment designed to save lives. Donations help us buy the latest equipment that we've been trained on.
There is a lot of new equipment out today that help us, as first responders, save lives. This equipment is also a lot safer for both our patients and first responders.
